Did Microsoft Copied DirectX 11 Into DirectX12 And Integrated Mantle In It?

DirectX 12 is Microsoft's new API and everybody is talking about how it's going to change the way we game.

Mantle And DirectX 12

With lower-level access to the systems resources (such as the GPU), the game developers are going to be able to make much smoother, more beautiful and generally better games. So we should thank Microsoft, right?

Well, not many people agree to this. Many say that, because Microsoft worked so closely with AMD in order to create the Xbox-One (which obviously had at least some elements from Mantle, they still deny that the two are connected in any way), then DirectX 12 has also some traces of Mantle.

Nvidia's Place

With that said, what is Nvidia doing? Are their graphics cards going to be compatible with DX12? Of course! When MS demoed DX12, they used GTX Titans black edition, so most of their newer GPUs are going to be OK.

When Will We Know If This Is True?

Now, it is certain that Microsoft is never going to publicly say that they have integrated Mantle, but maybe a Game Dev, that works mostly on Mantle, will come out and say that adjusting to DX12 was a breeze, then we will have our unofficial/ kind of official evidence that DirectX 12 has some Mantle in it.

What do you think? Was it OK, that possibly Microsoft "copied" AMD? Are you afraid that your graphics card is not enough anymore? Because many people are!
