Steam Enables Refunds For Any Reason

New Steam Refund Policy

Bought a Steam game by accident? Didn't read the system requirements and your system doesn't support your newly acquired game? Bought a game and after one hour of gameplay, realised it is the worst game you have ever played? Did any of these things happen and now you want your money back? Well, now Steam lets you do just that!Since June 2nd, Steam has made it possible for anyone, to request a full refund, for ANY reason! If you haven't played the game for more than 2 hours and it hasn't been more than 14 days since your purchase, then you are most likely eligible for a refund.

Specifically, you are not eligible for a refund if you have purchased the game outside of Steam (CD keys etc.), if you want the refund for a gift you received or a movie and if you have been banned by Steam. If you don't fall under these categories, then you are good to go!

The best thing is that no special procedure is required. You just submit a request here and just wait for approval (normally within a week). After that you receive the refund as Steam Wallet Funds, or through the same way you made the purchase (like PayPal). Convenient, right?

Just don't abuse this privilege, yes it is considered a privilege, although it shouldn't, because if Steam thinks you are taking advantage of it in order to get free games, then you will not be able to get that sweet refund, anymore.
